Your Guide to
Online Success
Do you want a website that turns visitors into loyal, happy and returning customers?
Are you ready to boost your brand’s visibility and generate more sales online?
Would you like a trusted guide to a website that reflects your unique style?
If you’re nodding ‘YES‘, you’re in the right place.
Hi, I’m Shon, a web designer with a passion for helping small business owners turn their websites into powerful growth tools.
But I didn’t start out that way. When I started my first business over 25 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t have a blueprint, a mentor, or even a clear plan. But I did know one thing: I loved being self-employed. The freedom, the creativity, and the opportunity to build something of my own always inspired me to never give up.
Over the years, I started — and failed at — many ventures. But each failure taught me something new about running a business. I learned the hard way what works, what doesn’t, and how to adapt when things didn’t go as planned. And I learned that having the right tools, like a strategic website, can be the difference between feeling stuck and thriving.
These experiences shaped how I approach web design today. I realized that a website should be more than “just a website.” It should be a 24/7 sales machine — a tool that actively works for your business, not something that just “sits there” looking pretty.
Too often, business owners feel overwhelmed, stuck, and unsure of how to make that happen. I know that feeling because I’ve been there too. That’s why I focus on creating websites that do more than look good — they drive growth, build trust, and turn visitors into paying customers.
Let me show you how we can turn your website into a powerful asset that attracts customers, builds trust, and works for you even when you’re not working.
Imagine this: You need a website for your business, but where do you even begin?
You head online to search for a web designer and are met with page after page of faceless companies, flashy portfolios and vague promises. Everyone claims to be “the best,” but no one really seems to understand you.
You fill out contact forms. You wait. Sometimes you hear back — sometimes you don’t. And when you do, you’re hit with confusing pricing, impersonal responses, or designers who sound more interested in their “style” than your business goals.
So you think, “Maybe I’ll just do it myself.” But after hours, weeks or months of tinkering with templates, watching tutorials, and wrestling with “easy-to-use” builders, you realize it’s anything but easy. The site never quite looks or feels right. It’s draining your time, patience, and momentum.
And worst of all, it’s costing you potential customers.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. In fact, many of my clients come to me in the exact same situation. They’re stuck, overwhelmed, and unsure how to create a site that stands out. I hear it from clients all the time: “I just want someone I can trust to actually listen to me and bring my vision to life.” I know that feeling because I’ve been there too.
That’s why I approach things differently. I believe in personal connection, open communication, and clarity at every step. No more guessing. No more faceless “teams” that ghost you mid-project. Just honest guidance, thoughtful strategy, and a website that finally reflects you — your values, your style, and your goals.
Here’s how I do it differently:
Strategic Storytelling
I guide your visitors through a clear journey, moving them from curiosity to action.
Conversion-Focused Design
Beautiful websites are great, but I design for results — more clicks, more calls, and more revenue.
Data-Driven Approach
Every decision I make is backed by research, user behavior, and SEO best practices.
Your Style, Your Voice
I design websites you can “live with and love,” not just what I think looks good.
Built for Growth
I offer affordable, step-by-step payment tiers so you can start small and expand as your business grows.
Satisfaction Guaranteed
I don’t stop working until you’re 100% happy with the result.
If you’re like most business owners, you’re looking for a website that does more than just “exist.”
If you’ve been struggling to get more sales, inquiries, or bookings from your website, you’re not alone. The good news? It doesn’t have to be that way.
Your website isn’t just a “thing” you need to have. It’s a tool that can increase your profits, attract more customers, and give you a clear view of your business using real data and market insights. If your website isn’t doing that, it’s time for a change.
Now imagine having a website that feels like a natural extension of your business. It’s beautiful, functional, and uniquely you. It’s the kind of site you’re proud to share — one that builds trust, makes a lasting first impression, and works around the clock to grow your business. No more wasting time. No more stress. Just clarity, confidence, and results.
There are plenty of web designers who can “make a good looking site.” But that’s not enough. I focus on design with purpose. Every font, every layout, every color is carefully selected with one goal in mind: to convert your visitors into customers.
Here’s what that means for you:
A website you’re proud to share (and one your customers will love too) that makes a memorable first impression that builds trust and credibility.
A profit-driven marketing tool that generate more sales, more leads and more opportunities.
Peace of mind and more time knowing your website is working like a well-oiled machine so you can focus on what matters most — your business.
This isn’t about just getting a website. It’s about transforming your business with a powerful tool that works for you around the clock.
My Personal Story
Finding my way
My journey with web design started in 2002. I had graduated from culinary school and worked as a cook in different restaurants around Vancouver, when I realized I wanted more out of life than restaurants could offer me. Being creative and good with computers, I was naturally drawn to graphic and web design. I started studying at UBC taking multimedia courses in the day, while cooking at night.
I built my first website in 2004, and from that moment, I was hooked. I loved the process of taking an idea, building it from scratch, and seeing it come to life online. It felt like unlocking a world of endless possibilities.
As I started taking on paid clients, something clicked — I realized I wasn’t just building websites. I was helping people succeed. I discovered how much I loved visual design, strategic problem-solving, and helping small business owners bring their dreams to life.
But it wasn’t always smooth sailing. Early in my career, I faced challenges like self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and figuring out how to market myself. I learned the hard way that a website’s visual appeal alone isn’t enough. If no one visits it, it’s worthless.
Business strategy is key
That is when I realized that the key to online success isn’t just visuals but strategy as well. Any business isn’t just about the products or services you offer. On the other side of the coin of any business will always be marketing and sales. I learned that looking professional isn’t enough — you need to understand strategy, marketing, and how to deliver real value to clients.
So I dove deep into digital marketing, SEO, business strategy and sales. I learned that design isn’t just about aesthetics — it’s about purpose. It’s about making every click count and creating an experience that is designed to convert every visitor into a customer.
Years later, I started my own agency in the city. It grew fast, I hired employees, and we experienced rapid success. But rapid expansion comes with its own set of challenges. I learned another valuable lesson: Success without balance isn’t really success at all. I burned out. I felt overwhelmed, stressed, and unsure of my next move.
A new beginning
That’s when I discovered Pender Island. The moment I stepped onto the island, I felt at peace. It was a slower, simpler way of life — one that allowed me to reflect on what truly matters and it changed the way I thought about life and work. I decided to move here over 15 years ago. It wasn’t just a change of scenery; it was a change in mindset. I realized that success isn’t just about growth — it’s about meaningful growth.
Living on Pender Island also taught me how to navigate the unique challenges of running a business in a small, close-knit community. I learned through trial and error, discovering what works, what doesn’t, and how to build a sustainable business. I learned the power of patience, persistence, and consistency. This experience inspired me to help others — not just with their websites but with their entire approach to running a business.
Now, I take everything I’ve learned — strategy, design, patience, persistence, and empathy — and use it to help small businesses like yours grow. I understand what it’s like to feel stuck, and I know how to help you move forward.
Your partner in success
I’m not just a web designer. I’m a guide, a business partner, and someone who genuinely cares about helping you succeed. I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, stuck, and unsure of where to turn. I’ve been there too.
But I also know the other side of that story. I know what it feels like to finally see it all come together — to have clarity, confidence, and a business that feels aligned with your goals. My goal is to help you reach that point.
I design with empathy, compassion, and purpose. I’m not here to sell you a “pretty site.” I’m here to create a tool that helps you grow your business, increase profits, and feel in control. I focus on trust, creativity, and helping you turn visitors into customers.
The values that underlie everything I do in business
My Mission
My mission is simple: to help people succeed.
I believe that success doesn’t happen by chance — it happens with the right guidance, support, and strategy. Over the years, I’ve seen how overwhelming it can be to start and grow a business. The questions are endless: Where do I start? What do I focus on first? Who can I trust to help me get there?
I’ve been there too. I know what it feels like to face those questions without clear answers. That’s why I’m committed to being the person I wish I had when I was starting out.
My mission is to help people navigate the complexities of growing a business in an online world. From finding clarity in the chaos to taking meaningful action, I’m here to offer guidance, strategy, and support every step of the way. I believe that success isn’t just about “going online” — it’s about thriving online.
But thriving online doesn’t happen by accident. It takes clear strategy, thoughtful planning, and a partner who sees your potential even when things feel uncertain. That’s where I come in. I help people focus on what really matters so they can grow with confidence — not guesswork.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to grow to the next level, my mission is to give you the tools, insights, and clarity to thrive online. Because success isn’t just about surviving the journey — it’s about growing, learning, and reaching your full potential along the way.
If you’re ready to go from feeling stuck to feeling empowered, I’m here to help you get there. Because your success is my mission.
People Want to Do Business with People
Here’s something you should know about me. I’m not a faceless company. I’m a person who genuinely cares about your success. I’m friendly, curious, and compassionate. I’m not afraid to ask questions, and I’ll take the time to understand your vision, your story, and your unique style.
When I’m not designing websites, you can find me playing music, gardening, or spending time with my two dogs. I believe in working hard but also living a balanced, meaningful life. I bring that same approach to every project I work on — striving for purpose, clarity, and impact.
My Process
A great website needs a great plan
Great websites don’t just happen — they’re built step-by-step, just like a house.
Here’s how we’ll work together to create a website you can live with and love
Understanding Your Vision
Every great project starts with a conversation. I’ll ask questions about your goals, values, and unique style. Together, we’ll define what success looks like and set clear expectations for the project. This is about trust and understanding — it’s about making sure we’re on the same page from day one.
Key Activities:
- Discuss goals, values, and style preferences
- Get clear on the vision for your website
- Build trust and alignment before any design work begins
Research & Strategy
With your goals in mind, I dive into research. I analyze your competitors, map out the customer journey, and develop a content strategy. This stage is like creating the blueprint for a house — we lay the foundation to ensure everything is built on solid ground.
Key Activities:
- Competitor analysis and market research
- Customer journey mapping
- Develop a clear site strategy and structure
Design & Creativity
Here’s where the magic happens. I design your website the way an interior designer designs a home — it’s about creating a space you can live with and love. We’ll explore colors, fonts, layouts, and imagery until it feels just right. You’ll get to see mockups and give feedback along the way.
Key Activities:
- Create sketches, wireframes, and concepts
- Develop custom design system
- Design mockups that bring your vision to life
Development & Build
Once the design is approved, I turn it into reality. I write clean, efficient code using modern technology to ensure your site runs smoothly, loads quickly, and works perfectly on any device. This is where strategy, design, and development all come together.
Key Activities:
- Build a responsive, mobile-friendly website
- Optimize speed, performance, and SEO
- Ensure every interaction is smooth, fast, and functional
Testing & Revisions
Before launch, I run your website through a rigorous testing process. I check every button, link, and page to make sure your site works seamlessly on every browser, device, and screen size. You’ll have a chance to review everything before launch, and I’ll make any changes you need.
Key Activities:
- Cross-browser testing (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.)
- Mobile responsiveness testing
- Speed and performance optimization
Launch & Support
Once everything is tested and ready, it’s launch day! But I won’t just “hand it over” and leave you on your own. I’ll be right there to make sure everything runs smoothly. And if you ever need support after launch, I’m just a message away.
Key Activities:
- Connect the domain and handle technical setup
- Post-launch support to ensure everything runs perfectly
- Ongoing help and guidance as needed
My Philosophy
The lessons I’ve learned that shape everything I do
Over the years, I’ve learned that success doesn’t come from luck or chance — it comes from experience, patience, and a few hard-earned lessons along the way. Each project, each challenge, and each mistake taught me something new about growth, design, and building something that lasts.
These lessons have become the foundation of my philosophy. They guide the way I approach every project, every decision, and every relationship with my clients. From embracing a growth mindset to building relationships that grow naturally over time, these principles are more than just ideas — they’re the heart of everything I do.
These are the most impactful lessons I’ve learned, and they’re the reason my work doesn’t just stop at “good enough” — it’s always growing, always improving, and always focused on creating something that lasts.
Here’s what I’ve discovered along the way:
Growth Mindset
Success isn’t a destination — it’s a process.
Growth happens step-by-step, not all at once. I approach every project with an open mind, ready to adapt, evolve, and grow. It’s not about perfection — it’s about consistent, intentional progress. That’s why I offer step-by-step payment tiers, allowing you to start small and grow big over time. Every website, every strategy, and every business can be improved — one step at a time.
Plant, Nurture, Harvest
Stop hunting for customers — start growing them.
Instead of chasing leads, I believe in attracting and nurturing them. Like farming, it’s about planting seeds today that grow into something sustainable tomorrow. Every page, every call-to-action, and every piece of content is planted with intention. The result? A steady, reliable source of leads, customers, and growth. Stop hunting — start growing.
The Customer Is the Hero
Your business is a story, but your customer is the hero.
Your customers aren’t looking for your story — they’re looking for a solution to their own. I design websites that position them as the hero and your business as the guide that helps them succeed. By leading visitors step-by-step through the customer journey, your website becomes a clear path to action — helping them find what they need and feel confident taking the next step.
Design With Purpose & Heart
It’s not about what I think looks good — it’s about creating something that feels like you.
A website should feel like home for your business — a reflection of your brand, your style, and your values. My approach is simple: Your style, your vision, your space. I listen, I ask questions, and I create something you can live with and love. Every choice is purposeful, functional, and designed to connect with your customers in a way that feels authentic and true to you.
Anything Is Possible With the Right Strategy
If it’s not working, it doesn’t mean it’s impossible — it just means we haven’t found the right strategy yet.
Success isn’t about luck — it’s about strategy. Every “overnight success” you see is the result of small, deliberate actions. If something isn’t working, it doesn’t mean it’s broken — it means we need to try a new approach. I use data-driven decisions, purposeful design, and continuous improvement to find the strategies that move you forward.
One Step at a Time
Big things are built one small step at a time.
Every big achievement starts with a single step. Instead of doing everything at once, I believe in steady, consistent progress. This is why I offer flexible payment tiers — so you can start now and grow as you go. Success isn’t about “getting it all done” — it’s about making intentional progress, one step at a time.
Persistence is key
The only way to fail is to quit.
Living on Pender Island taught me that persistence, patience, and consistency are the keys to lasting success. Progress doesn’t come from quick wins or flashy moves — it comes from steady, thoughtful action. Obstacles happen, but quitting isn’t an option. When we work together, I’ll be with you every step of the way — consistent, focused, and always ready to find another way forward.
